Google to launch new Nexus 7 in India next month

Asus, which manufactures Nexus 7 tablets for Google, is unlikely to be involved in the retail of Nexus 7 in India. The tablet will initially be sold by Google's retail arm through AndroidLand store in Noida (near Delhi) and Bangaluru.
Run jointly by Google and smartphone maker Spice, the two AndroidLand stores will start stocking the second-generation Nexus 7 tablet some time next month, sources said. Google has already confirmed on its official webpage the new model of Nexus 7 will be coming soon to India.
Apple's new iPhones 5S and 5C will also hit Indian stores on November 1. A November launch for both the second-generation Nexus 7 and the new iPhones will bode well for sales during the festive season in India.
Thus, the new Nexus 7 will come to India four months after its global unveiling. Its predecessor - the first generation Nexus 7 - had arrived in the country nine months after global launch. Google is also gearing up for global unveiling of the Nexus 5 smartphones soon.
Meanwhile, online retailers have started selling the current Nexus 7 model with major discounts. The 16GB Wi-Fi-only version is selling for Rs 9,999 on e-commerce websites, as compared to the official price of Rs 15,999. Its 32GB Wi-Fi variant can be purchased for Rs 13,499.
